The compressed folder is invalid

Windows says the compressed (zipped) folder is invalid? Understand the error and recover the files inside the zip without changing the original.

Why it happens

Windows relies on the central directory at the end of the zip. If the download or copy stopped before the end, that index is gone and Windows gives up, even with whole files inside.

What to do now

1. Download the file again, if you still can.
2. Don't try repair sites that ask you to upload the file.
